March and April will be busy months at Lower Gwynedd public meetings; all held at the Township Building beginning at 7:00 pm.

March 18th Planning Commission:

  • Presentation about the draft of the Township’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan

March 24th Board of Supervisors (BOS):

  • Presentation about a playground memorial at Ingersoll Park proposed at the site of the former Penllyn School on Wister Road (now a vacant house/plumber’s business)
  • Presentation about the Township’s draft Comprehensive Land Use Plan, with the possibility of adoption by the Board of Supervisors
  • Consideration of an ordinance amendment and conditional use application for the carriage home development proposed at the site of the Spring House Nursery and surrounding homes on Bethlehem Pike and Cedar Hill Road, by Route 309
  • Discussion about whether the BOS should take any action regarding the Zoning Hearing Board application related to the Whitefield subdivision proposed near the intersection of Sumneytown Pike and Evans Road

April 7th Board of Supervisors:

  • The BOS is holding an extra public meeting for a presentation by BET about their proposed redevelopment of the Spring House Corporate Center on Norristown Road by Route 309. The same developer proposed apartments and retail on this property last year.  They have revised their plan and are again seeking an ordinance amendment to permit apartments and retail there.  They also have submitted a conditional use application that only can be approved if the ordinance is amended but provides more information about their proposed development that may help to answer community questions that were raised during previous public meetings.
