Public Works Laborers

Lower Gwynedd Township is seeking applications for Public Works Laborers. These full-time positions will be responsible for maintenance and repair of parks, open space, rights-of-way, walking trails, roadways, storm and sanitary sewer and Township-owned and maintained properties, as well as snow removal. The desired applicants are preferred to have basic knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a municipal Public Works Department along with prior construction, maintenance, or trade experience. Current valid PA driver’s license required with Class A Commercial driver’s license with Tanker Endorsement required within 6 months of hire. Firefighter 1 preferred. The starting salary range is $22-$25 hourly, dependent on qualifications. We also offer an excellent benefits package. 2023 Summer Camp Employment

SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Summer Camp Dates:  Monday, June 19, 2023 – Friday, August 11, 2023

 Camp Director:   Job description: Is responsible for the supervision of all participants and camp staff. Supervise the daily check-in and check-out procedures. Create and supervise the daily activities. Supervise and coordinate all camp supplies and equipment. Individuals should have experience in leading children of various age levels.  Individuals should have experience supervising and leading staff members, working with children and a good attitude working with others.  Report to the Recreation Director.  Requirements: Individual should be over the age of 21, teaching degree preferred.   

Camp Counselors:  Job Description: Is responsible for the supervision of children within certain age groups. Lead various daily activities from arts and crafts to games. Assist with keeping the facility and camp equipment and supplies neat and organized. Implement daily activities with assistance from Counselors in Training.  Requirements: Individuals should be a high school junior/senior or older.  These individuals do not need previous experience but must have demonstrated ability to work with children. Must be enthusiastic and have a good attitude.  

Counselor in Training: Job Description:  CIT program is designed to provide youth too old to attend summer camp but too young for employment with an opportunity to develop leadership skills to broaden their understanding of what it means to take on a more responsible role in a camp setting.  CIT will be responsible for aiding the Camp Counselors during daily activities from arts and crafts to games.  Assist in the supervision of the children enrolled in the program.  Volunteer / Learning Experience

  • Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearances and FBI Fingerprinting Clearance are required for employment.
  • Previous employment with Lower Gwynedd Township does not guarantee rehire.
  • Summer Camp Staff positions are physical and active positions which include running, standing, walking, etc.; employee must also be able to work in various climate conditions when necessary – high heat, humidity, rain, etc.
  • Positions are classified as part-time seasonal employment.
