2023 Budget & Fiscal Plan Adopted

The Board of Supervisor’s approved the 2023 Budget and Fiscal Plan at their Regular Meeting held on December 13th, 2022.  There is no tax increase included in the 2023 budget.  The millage rate will remain at 1.223. Additionally, there is no increase in sewer user charges. The General Fund Budget totals $10,050,815. Revenue derived from the Earned Income Tax will generate approximately 55.6% of General Fund receipts.  Revenues from all funds total $20,284,948. This total does not include the three pension funds.    

The Township will continue to provide funding to the two volunteer fire companies for 2023 at the normal 70/30 distribution between Wissahickon and North Penn Fire Companies. The 2023 allocation will be $364,400 to the two volunteer fire companies.  This amount includes revenues derived from the real estate fire tax and an additional contribution of $165,000 from the General Fund approved by the Board of Supervisors. In addition, a one-time donation of the Township ARPA funding will be provided to the two fire companies, $70,000 to Wissahickon and $30,000 to North Penn, in appreciation of their service during the pandemic. The Board of Supervisors will also donate $30,000 to the Community Ambulance Association of Ambler in 2023.   

The Township Recreation Fund totals approximately $600,000 and is used to maintain the Township’s extensive park and trail system and to offer different programs and events throughout the year.    

The Sewer Funds total $3,588,168 of which $1,270,000 of this total is paid to Ambler Borough for waste water treatment charges and capital project costs for the treatment plant.  

The Township has allocated $483,00 for the repaving of Township roads and various costs associated with such.  Capital Funds have also been allocated for various projects and equipment purchases among other things.  Traffic Impact Funds and Capital Reserve Funds totaling approximately $3,750,000 will be used for projects including updating the Act 209 fee, McKean Road study, and the Spring House intersection widening and traffic signal upgrades. These projects will be completed with the assistance of grant funding through the Multi-Modal Transportation Program.
