The final draft of the Lower Gwynedd Township Comprehensive Plan is now available for public review and comment. The Comprehensive Plan is a long-range land use plan that will guide growth and development through the year 2045.
Public awareness of and feedback about the plan is important to the Township. To that end, the Township is hosting a “Town Hall”, providing the community with an opportunity to learn more about the Comprehensive Plan and share your thoughts.
Over the course of the plan’s preparation, the Township gathered input through steering committee meetings with residents and business, open houses, and a community survey. A key focus area is revitalization and support for existing commercial areas. Future updates to the zoning ordinance are anticipated for commercial areas designated in the plan, primarily on Bethlehem Pike. The plan does not propose land use or zoning changes for any residential neighborhoods, as preservation of our neighborhoods is another focus area.
In a nutshell, the goal is to preserve the neighborhoods you love and add vitality to existing commercial areas in the Township. Please join us at the Town Hall to let us know if we are on the right track.
The draft Comprehensive Plan will be summarized at the Town Hall. It also is on the Township’s website.
