A Code Red Hot Weather Emergency has been declared for #MontcoPA on the following days:
Wednesday, July 1 until 8 p.m., and Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
A Code Red Hot Weather Emergency is declared when the temperature or heat index is expected to be at or above 100°F or higher for two or more hours. Extreme heat can be life-threatening, especially for older adults, young children, and those with health conditions.
Please take steps to stay safe:
- Stay hydrated
- Avoid strenuous activity during peak heat
- Check on neighbors, especially seniors
- Never leave children or pets in vehicles
Heading to the Kiwanis Carnival and Fireworks? Hydrate before you go, drink plenty of water throughout the event, and take breaks from the heat when needed.
