Waste Management spring yard waste pick-up dates

Waste Management will be collecting yard waste for all customers of Waste Management on Saturday, May 12, 2012 and Saturday, June 2, 2012.  Please be sure to have all yard waste (twigs, shrub trimmings, small branches and the like) and leaf waste (leaves, garden residues, shrub and tree trimmings and similar items) curbside in biodegradable bags by 7:00 AM on the morning of the collections.  This collection does not include Grass Clippings and is limited to 8 bags per household.   

Montgomery County hazardous waste and electronic collections

For those looking for properly disposing of hazardous materials and electronics, Montgomery County offers several locations throughout the County where they collect such items. Please follow the link for detailed informaiton on the dates and times of these collections.

Welcome to the GWYNEDDGREEN Blog! This is our space to share and discuss ideas and plans to make Lower Gwynedd the best and greenest it can be! The blog is sponsored by the township's recycling committee (now called GwyneddGreen commitee) and will focus on bringing awareness to recycling efforts in the township. But there is so much more to this conversation. In coming months, GwyneddGreen members will take turns posting information, ideas and stories that will inspire and challenge our thinking about sustainable living. We believe these ideas will lead to better results for households and the township, and increase our quality of life here in Lower Gwynedd.

POLICE NOTIFICATION TO RESIDENTS

The Lower Gwynedd Police Department has been experiencing a number of thefts from unlocked autos in the area of PenAmbler Road and Penllyn Pike. All residents are urged:

* Not to place any items of value in plain view in their vehicle;

* Lock their vehicles, even if they are parked in the driveway;

* Immediately call 9-1-1 if they observe any suspicious activity in their neighborhood, especially in the late evening hours or during the night. The activity may include person(s) walking around the neighborhood; a vehicle driving on the street with the lights out; a vehicle parked in the neighborhood in an unusual location.

Park & Recreation Discounted Amusement Park Tickets

During the Summer season, discounted ski tickets are available for the following areas: Adventure Aquarium, Baltimore Aquarium, Dutch Wonderland, Hersheypark, Morey Pier, Philadelphia Zoo, Six Flags Great Adventure, Sesame Place and Dorney Park. Coupons are availabe at the Township Building for Camelbeach. Tickets are available, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
