Lower Gwynedd Township's Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of roads, sewer lines and park facilities in the Township. Robert Pierson is the Director of Public Works. George Barreca is the Township Roadmaster. The hours of the department are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Monday to Friday.

Dead Deer

To report a dead deer anywhere in the Township, please notify the PA Game Warden at (610) 926-3136.

Highways

The Township is responsible for repair, maintenance and snow removal for 40 miles of road. Each year the Township surveys the road conditions and develops a plan for repaving and curb replacement. Questions can be directed to the Township Roadmaster at 215-646-5302.

Sewer

The Township also maintains approximately 100 miles of sewer lines, two pump stations and five metering stations. The Lower Gwynedd Township Municipal Authority handles sewer line construction. Once construction is complete, the Township assumes operating responsibility. Through an agreement with Ambler Borough, the Township's wastewater is treated at the Ambler Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Snow Plowing

The Township's Public Works Department is responsible for plowing and salting of roads in Lower Gwynedd. Whenever roads are snow covered or icy, or the forecast calls for inclement weather, please move your vehicles out of the street and onto private driveways so that plowing and salting operations can be done safely and efficiently. Remember that during a snow emergency all vehicles must be removed from the roadways.

Trash Collection

The Township has a "Single Hauler" ordinance, whereby the Township contracts with one private hauler to provide service in Lower Gwynedd Township. Waste Management of Indian Valley is the Township's designated waste hauler. All new residents must contract with Waste Management.
