Join us as we explore a new trail each week. Meeting locations with trail details will be provided upon registering for the program.

Trail Clean Up Day


Township residents, high school students, and service clubs are all encouraged to pre-register to volunteer in helping us clean up some of the trails. The cleanup will focus on collecting trash and maintaining the beauty of the Township's extensive trail system. For further information please call the Parks & Recreation Department.

The new musical based on the popular film of the same name arrives on Broadway. Ghost follows a young couple, Sam and Molly, who get mugged while walking home to their New York apartment one night. Sam is murdered and becomes trapped in this world as a ghost, unable to leave Molly, who he learns is in grave danger. With the help of a phony storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving and protecting her. The show will feature music and lyrics by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics fame and Glen Ballard. Bruce Joel Rubin is adapting his Oscar-winning screenplay for the stage as well as writing lyrics.

Whether your child loves to build things or destroy them, this week of camp includes lots of both! The junior Mad Science engineers will design and build Bridges and "Skyscrapers" and even construct a Geodesic Dome big enough for all the campers to sit inside! Then the machine madness starts… This journey will include many different machines, simple & complex, we use in our daily lives. Campers will have fun building their very own Catapults, Sonic Race Car and much more to take home from this Awesome Camp! Catapult your kids to New Heights!!

Throughout the week, brave young astronauts will explore the mysteries of the scientists study the planets and stars and what kinds of tools are used for space exploration. Children will discover how astronauts live and work once they are in Space. They will learn about gravity, propulsion and the basics of rocket science through fun, hands-on activities. Most importantly, they will learn first hand about the aerodynamic properties of flying machines by building their own Estes® model rockets! Once the rockets are completed, children will blast off on a real Mad Science space mission with the grand finale, Live Rocket Launches! This Camp is out of this World!

Multi-Sport Camp

This is the ultimate camp experience where your child has the opportunity to play over 15 different sports from around the world in just one week! All sports incorporated into the Multi Sports program allow children to develop coordination, accuracy, body control, and timing. Inclusive activities, variety and enjoyment stand as the key attributes of the USSI Multi Sports camp ensuring the promotion of healthy lifestyle from an early age. Sports range from the traditional American pastimes of flag football, baseball and basketball to more diverse sports such as cricket, handball and disc golf. Children will also experience USSI's exciting world cup competition as well as participating in many other activities and games.

Summer Camp program will be held at the Wissahickon Middle School with use of the Pool. The Parks & Recreation is offering a Discount registration Period. 2012 Summer Camp will take place from June 18th until July 27th .
