We develop chemical ingredients that make your shampoo, sunscreen and laundry detergent work better, improve the quality of paint, make your auto bumpers tougher, prevent mildew, hold together the bag of potato chips you ate for lunch, and prevent swimming pools from leaking. Our products include polymers, coatings, adhesives, sealants and plastics additives.

Who works here: About 1,000 employees, including scientists and support staff involved in new product research and development.

About our site: Originally a farm, Rohm and Haas purchased the 180-acre tract of land in 1961 and opened the site for business in September 1963. Our research labs and offices occupy 11 buildings totaling 650,000 sq. ft.

Responsible care of the environment

Recipient of four Pennsylvania Governor's Awards for Environmental Excellence, Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award, Environmental Champion Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, among others.

Our Community Advisory Council includes representatives from local civic and service groups, educators and neighbors who live nearby.

Social responsibility

We support organizations such as the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association, the Elmwood Park Zoo, and educational programs in the Wissahickon and Upper Dublin School Districts and Montgomery County Community College.
